"Fallen Leaves" at the Jewish Museum Berlin. 2012.

This image is a detail of an installation called Shalekhet (Fallen Leaves), by Menashe Kadishman. The work is an unstable assembly of more than ten thousand unique iron plates, in one of the five "voids" created by the museum's architect, Daniel Libeskind. Visitors are invited to walk on the plates, an uncomfortable experience which releases a shattering cacophony.
